Air Spring Building Machine
Rolling Lobe Air Spring Manufacturing
Rolling lobe air spring building machines are designed to form semi-finished rubber air spring bodies before vulcanization. They mainly consist of a main base, cabinet, spindle assembly, forming table, upper pressing mechanism, and infrared indicator control system. These air spring building machines are equipped with HMI control and automatic parameter adjustment, so the spring building process starts by selecting the required air spring specification and installing the matching forming head. After the specification is selected, the control system automatically adjusts the forming parameters and infrared indicators according to the selected air spring type.
The infrared indicators guide the operator in positioning the No. 1 rubber sheet and cord fabric layers during the air spring building process. After the No. 1 rubber sheet is placed in the designated area and the cycle is started, the building machine automatically completes the winding process and changes the indicator guidance for the next cord fabric layer. The same sequence is repeated until the No. 2 rubber sheet winding is finished, after which the upper pressing mechanism can be activated when required or skipped depending on the production process. Air blowing is then used to remove the formed product.

- Building Speed: 1 piece/min (automatic process)
Air spring turn-up & turn-down machines complete the edge wrapping process for M-series, L-series, and large bellows-type air springs during production. They feature an upgraded turn-up & turn-down mechanism and additional forming heads, which allows them to handle a wider range of air spring sizes. These air spring building machines include a machine frame, left and right tail boxes, turn-up & turn-down mechanism, electrical control cabinet, and HMI system. Before production, operators can select the required air spring specification on the HMI, and the control system automatically loads the corresponding parameters after reset. Once the steel rings are mounted on the chucks and the pre-formed air spring body is placed on the tray, the operator only needs to start the cycle to complete the turn-up and turn-down process automatically.

These air spring building machines use a one-step building process, completing sleeve forming and turn-up/turn-down operations on the same unit. For the large end of the air spring, mechanical rollers and a double-folding forming head work together to complete the turn-down operation. At the small end, finger plates and a turn-up bladder perform the turn-up and turn-down forming process. The forming process is further supported by two lower pressing roller assemblies, which apply pressure through cylinder-driven movement. Servo motors control the forming head rotation and lateral positioning, allowing the rollers to compact the rubber sheets and remove trapped air.
